With 16 years of experience in the construction industry, Josh brings a wide and rare skillset of building design knowledge that covers daylighting, ventilation, acoustics, energy/Part L and thermal comfort. As a result Josh has honed his skills in providing holistic and robust design support for his clients, taking a pragmatic approach in getting projects over the line.

Prior to starting JC Sustainability, Josh worked at award-winning engineering consultancies across the UK where he retrained from acoustic engineering to sustainability. Following this Josh established and built up a team that worked on a wide range of projects, from single dwellings to offices, schools and large +£150m mixed use developments.

Having completed his MSc in Environmental Design at the University of Bath School of Architecture, Josh was also invited back as a lecturer on acoustics, ventilation and overheating. It was at the University of Bath that Josh also gained his accreditation as a Passivhaus consultant.

As an acoustician Josh has won multiple awards for his project work, however it is his passion for low carbon design that has lead him to start a sustainability focused consultancy.
